DFW Great 100 Nurses Scholarships
The DFW Great 100 Nurses Scholarship program provides two $1,000 scholarships annually to outstanding nursing students in baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs in the DFW area.
All applicants must work or reside in the DFW metroplex in one of the following counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise, or Van Zandt.
Applicants must also be currently enrolled in a baccalaureate, masters or doctoral program. All applications are due by January 12, 2025.
The DFW Great 100 Nurses Baccalaureate Scholarship–$1,000
This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, community service, and financial need.
Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited baccalaureate program for registered nurses.
Applicants must have completed at least one semester of nursing courses.
Applicants must demonstrate community service involvement.
Applicants must live or work in one of the following DFW counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise, or Van Zandt.
The Paulette Burns Graduate Nursing Scholarship – $1,000
This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, community service, and financial need.
Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited graduate program in nursing at the masters or doctoral level.
Applicants must have completed at least one semester of courses.
Applicants must demonstrate community service involvement.
Applicants must live or work in one of the following DFW counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise, or Van Zandt.
Past DFW Great 100 Nurses recipients will be awarded additional points in the scoring and selection process.

Recipients receive a letter from DFW Great 100 that they have been selected.
5. How are scholarship funds applied?
A check is made payable to the student.
6. If I receive the scholarship, can I apply the scholarship funds to any accredited nursing school in the country or does it have to be a nursing school in the state of Texas?
All applicants have to live or work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to be eligible (proof of residence). Online nursing programs are accepted; otherwise, it has to be a DFW area school.

All applications must be submitted using the scholarship application form below.
Be sure to indicate which scholarship you are applying for. Applicants are only eligible to receive a maximum of one scholarship in their lifetime.
Please write a one-page essay at the end of the question and answer section: “How do you plan to use your nursing education after graduation, and how does this benefit nursing as a whole?” Maximum word count: 1,000 words.
